Nero d'Avola

El Dorado County

Nero d'Avola is a really rare grape in California despite being the primary red grape of Sicily. It's a red that has it all: deep dark color, bright fruit, dense tannins and refreshing acidity. This boisterous red can easily stand up to many full-flavored dishes, yet can be a warming red by itself on the cooler nights to come.

Tasting Notes

2024-09-14

From day one, this wine has always impressed. Even weeks in the fermenter, it had such well balanced flavors. Fast forward almost a year later and it still doesn't disappoint. It's not the biggest or boldest wine out there for sure, but it stands out as something truly unique and yet as a food friendly wine. We're going to pair this with garlic steak bites in a creamy peppercorn sauce for our Chief Conspirator dinner and have no doubts that it will pair well and quickly become a new favorite.
