2023Gamay Noir
Amador County
Our 2023 Gamay Noir is a great lighter bodied, low alcohol red for the hot summer days ahead. The grape is made famous from the Beaujolais area of France and their famed Beaujolais Nuevo wines. We wanted to make something similar in style but with a much longer lifespan (BN usually is consumed within 4 months of release). To do this, we fermented the Gamay Noir as a traditional red (not carbonic macerated) then added whole cluster fermented Tinta Amarela for it's fruit. The result is a light, refreshing red that has a balance of earthiness and fruit. As is tradition, we recommend to serve this wine chilled, like a white.
