About Us
We started our winery because we wanted to provide a different experience: different grapes, different winemaking styles, different blends and a different level of interaction with our customers. We seek out small lots of interesting grapes from vineyards in Amador County and surrounding areas. By interesting, we mean grape varietals that most people never heard of, let alone tasted. Of course, we make wines from more recognized varietals too. We just do them differently.
We're the first to admit that we're not for everyone. We are for the more adventurous wine lover who seeks out something new and novel. We're also for those who want to be involved in the wines they drink. We want to include our club members in the decision making process and allow them to help shape our wines of the future.
Our website is pretty minimal now, but we'll continue to add more content and features as we can. Thanks for visiting us online and we hope to see you soon in the tasting room!

El Dorado County
Vermentino is one of the breakthrough whites of the Foothills, expressing intense aromas of pear, lime and pineapple. Low in alcohol, this wine is versatile with food and pairs well with fresh cheeses, fruit plates and light chicken dishes.

2023 Barbera
Fiddletown
Aaron provided a sample of this 'old world' style Barbera and Shane knew we had to do it as a varietal. The long, cool growing season of 2023 made this Barbera fresh and vibrant, with bright fruit and mouth filling acidity. Enjoyable at red temperatures or chill it a bit for more refreshment.

2023 Montepulciano
Sierra Foothills
Montepulciano is a famously food friendly red varietal found on the east coast of Italy (not from the Italian city with the same name). Our 2023 Montepulciano is blend of two vineyards, one of which what co-fermented with a small amount of Arneis (and Italian white varietal). The result is a complex wine has classic earthy flavors typical of the grape, but with red fruit notes showing through. It has firm tannins, smooth acid and a beautiful crimson color.

2023 Grenache Noir
Fiddletown
A rich and ripe expression of Grenache Noir from a tiny vineyard in Fiddletown. It's emblematic of a hardier style with dark color, full body yet mild tannins. Black cherries, dark chocolate, warm spices are some of the flavors we get on the palate.

2023 Mourvèdre
Amador County
We decided to blend Mourvèdre from two vineyards and add a splash of Syrah and Grenache to make a rich, complex Rhône style wine, but with bright fruit front and center. Earth and tobacco notes are complemented by moderate tannins to make this a great food friendly wine.

2023 GSM
Amador County
Our GSM marries the brooding dark fruit of Syrah, Grenache’s cherry richness and the deep savory notes of Mourvèdre in a blend that captures the elegant essence of 2023. This wine is dark and robust, and best paired with lamb, beef and rich pastas.

2023 Conspiracy
El Dorado County
A harmonious blend of two titans -Touriga Nacional provides the fruit and body while Aglianico provides freshness, acidy and floral depth. Both are dense, rich and tannic. This can easily age for a decade, yet is approachable now. Pair with rich dishes like steak and roasts.

2023 Alchemy
Sierra Foothills
Alchemy is a classic Basque inspired blend. It has firm tannins and acid from Tannat countered by the forest aromatics and full body of Cabernet Franc. It makes a bold and rich wine with scents of graphite, pine forest and cedar bark. Pairs well with heardier foods.

2023 Petit Manseng
El Dorado County
A very rare grape that lends itself well for dessert wines. It ripes with intense flavors yet maintains it's acid. This fortified wine is rich and loves spiced desserts. Full of flavor, but only slightly sweet at 5% residual sugar. It's unique in so many ways!

You Make the Call!
Conspiracy Club members, this is your chance to shape the future of our wine line up! We invite all members to come in to taste some unreleased wines and vote for the ones that you think should be released in June. We'll taste through a series and not all will make the cut. All of the wines being tasted are available for purchase during the event, but may not be available for some time after. Only the wines with the most votes will be released and available after the event.

Visit us during the last weekend of May! We'll be offering a special wine flight + a create your own summer spritz as an option to our regular tasting list. Enjoy tastes of three refreshing summer wines, then choose one as your base for your custom spritz featuring your choice of fresh fruits, herbs and bubbles. Regular tasting fees and policies apply.

Chief Conspirator Dinner
We will be closing at 5pm on Saturday, June 6 so that we may host our Spring Chief Conspirator wine pairing dinner. Chief Conspirators (you know who you are) save the date! We'll be hosting a five course gourmet food and wine pairing dinner for our top tier club members. Our theme for this event is: 'A Dinning Trip Around the Mediterranean', featuring courses from Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Egypt. This will be a ticketed event (there will be a nominal fee) and only ticket holders will be allowed entry.

Wine Club Release Month
June is wine club month and we have some great surprises for our club members! Members get to create their own tasting flight from any of the wines that we have released to select those that you wish to be in your club pick up. When you do the club pick up, we'll have a fun summer gift for you. Also, each weekend we'll be offering a different small bite as part of the member tasting experience.

Join us this Father's Day as we team up with all of the Wine on 49 members to celebrate Dad! Each tasting room will be offering dad a special BBQ themed item for his special day!

Don't forget to bring in your bags...
If you're like us, you probably have dozens of wine carrying bags from any number of wineries. We tend to collect them and then realize that we'll never use them. Unfortunately, most end up being discarded. We want to change that.
To help encourage reuse and reduce our carbon footprint, we've created a Bags to Bottles program. Simply bring in your Raven's Reach Winery bag on your next visit and earn credits towards a free bottle of wine of your choice. Have more than one bag? Bring them in for our reuse for even more credits. If they are in good, usable condition, you'll earn credits for each bag we receive or you reuse.
If you don't have one of our bags, no worries! You can bring in any wine bags that you may have for your own reuse and still get credit towards a free bottle of wine!
Ten credits (in other words 10 reused / refilled bags) gets you a free bottle of wine!
